Plans change, and this page explains exactly what happens when yours do. The short version: what comes back depends on the airline's or hotel's own rules, on how close to travel you cancel, and on our service fee — and we tell you the number in writing before we process anything.
Nothing is cancelled until you have confirmed the amount. When you ask us to cancel, we work out what is refundable, send it to you in writing, and wait. We do not process a cancellation you have not approved, because a cancellation cannot be undone and a surprise deduction is not something anyone should discover afterwards.
1.Scope
This policy applies to flights, hotel bookings and tour packages booked through JackpotsWorld Tours & Travels, whether on jackpotsworldtours.com, by telephone or by email. It forms part of our Website Terms & Conditions, and the version in force when your booking was confirmed is the version that applies to it.
2.The three parts of a refund
Every refund is the amount you paid, less up to three deductions. Knowing which is which explains almost every refund question anyone has ever asked us:
- The supplier's cancellation charge. Set by the airline, hotel or operator under the fare rules or booking terms attached to what you booked. This is usually the largest of the three, and it is the one that grows as departure approaches. We do not receive it and we cannot waive it.
- Non-refundable taxes and charges. Some taxes and levies are refundable when a ticket is cancelled and some are not; that is decided by the taxing authority and the airline, not by us.
- Our service fee. The charge for arranging, issuing and then cancelling the booking. It is disclosed before you pay and, because the work of arranging your booking has already been done, it is not refunded when you cancel. Where we charge a separate cancellation-processing fee, it is disclosed in the written quotation before you approve the cancellation.
What is left after those deductions is your refund. Where the deductions equal or exceed what you paid — which is what a fully non-refundable fare or rate means — the refund is nil, and we will say so plainly rather than processing a cancellation that returns nothing without telling you first.
3.How to cancel
Send a cancellation request to support@jackpotsworldtours.com from the email address on the booking, quoting:
- your booking reference;
- the name of the lead traveller as it appears on the booking;
- which travellers or which parts of the booking you are cancelling, if not all of it.
You can also call +91 9177847799 at any hour, and you should call as well as write if you are travelling within 48 hours. Please still send the email. The written request is what fixes the time of your cancellation, and the time is often what decides the amount.
4.When the cancellation takes effect
The relevant time is when your written request reaches us, not when we reply and not when the supplier processes it. Requests are timestamped on receipt at whatever hour they arrive, including nights, Sundays and public holidays, and are acted on from that moment.
One caveat worth stating plainly: a supplier's own deadline runs on the supplier's clock, not ours. Being reachable at three in the morning does not make an airline's refunds desk reachable at three in the morning. A request that arrives here minutes before a hotel's free-cancellation window closes may still not reach the hotel in time, and some airline and hotel desks only process cancellations during their own working hours — so your place in our queue is secured immediately, while the supplier's response may not be. Where a deadline of that kind is close, call rather than email, so the cancellation can be lodged the moment we have it.
5.Flights
Airline tickets are governed by the fare rules of the specific fare booked. Those rules decide whether the ticket is refundable at all, what the airline's cancellation charge is, and which taxes come back. They are sent to you with your confirmation, and they vary enormously between a flexible fare and a promotional one.
- Refundable fares return the fare less the airline's cancellation charge, less non-refundable taxes, less our service fee.
- Non-refundable and promotional fares typically return only the refundable statutory taxes, and sometimes nothing at all.
- Partly used tickets are refunded, where the fare permits it, on the value of the unused sectors as calculated by the airline — which is rarely a simple proportion of what you paid.
Cancelling a ticket is not the same as claiming on an airline's disruption obligations. If the airline cancelled or significantly rescheduled your flight, see section 10 — that is a different claim with a different outcome.
6.Hotels
Hotel bookings fall into two kinds, and which one you have is stated on the rate before you pay and repeated on your voucher:
- Flexible rates can be cancelled without a hotel charge up to the free-cancellation deadline shown on your voucher, after which the hotel's charge applies — commonly the first night, and for some properties the full stay. Our service fee is not refunded.
- Non-refundable rates are exactly that: the hotel retains the full amount on any cancellation, at any time, for any reason. They are cheaper because of it, and they are labelled before you book.
Some hotels also apply their own rules to early departure, shortened stays and unused nights. Those are decided by the property at the time, and an early checkout does not automatically refund the nights not stayed.
7.Tour packages
A package is a bundle of separately contracted services — flights, accommodation, transfers and sightseeing — each with its own supplier and its own cancellation terms. When a package is cancelled, every component is cancelled under its own rules, and the refund is what survives all of them together.
Unless the itinerary or your written quotation states otherwise, the following scale applies to the package price, in addition to any airline cancellation charge on ticketed flights within it and any non-refundable component identified at the time of booking:
| Written request received | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| More than 45 days before departure | The booking deposit |
| 45 to 31 days before departure | 25% of the package price |
| 30 to 16 days before departure | 50% of the package price |
| 15 to 8 days before departure | 75% of the package price |
| 7 days or fewer before departure, or no-show | 100% of the package price |
Two things about that table are worth reading twice. First, the airline's own cancellation charge sits on top of it where flights have already been ticketed, and a ticketed non-refundable fare is lost regardless of how early you cancel. Second, deposits are non-refundable because they are paid onward to secure hotels and ground services the moment your booking is made.
Where the itinerary you booked publishes its own cancellation terms, or where we have agreed different terms with you in writing, those terms apply instead of this table.
8.Changes instead of cancelling
Before cancelling, ask us what a change costs. A change is priced as the supplier's change fee, plus the difference between your original fare or rate and the one available at the moment of the change, plus our service fee. On a booking with a heavy cancellation charge, moving the dates is frequently cheaper than cancelling and rebooking.
We quote all three amounts before altering anything, and nothing is changed until you approve the quote. The fare difference is the component that grows with delay, so an early question is a cheaper one.
9.No-shows
Failing to travel without cancelling is a no-show, and it is the most expensive way to not take a trip. Airlines and hotels almost always retain the full amount, and on an airline ticket a missed first sector usually cancels the remaining sectors automatically. If you know you are not going, cancel — even at the last minute, even when the charge is high, because a cancelled booking sometimes returns statutory taxes and a no-show typically returns nothing.
Being denied boarding or entry for missing, invalid or mismatched travel documents is treated as a no-show under the supplier's rules. See section 10 of the Website Terms & Conditions.
10.If we or the supplier cancel
If we cannot confirm a booking after you have paid — because the fare or the room went before ticketing — you receive a full refund of everything you paid, with no deduction of any kind, including our service fee.
If the airline, hotel or operator cancels or materially changes your booking, the remedy is the supplier's to give under its own terms and, for flights, under the applicable aviation regulations and international conventions. That is typically a rebooking, a credit, or a refund of the fare. We pass on the options as soon as we are told, help you take up the one you choose, and present the refund claim on your behalf. We do not deduct a cancellation fee of our own in this situation.
If a component of a tour package cannot be provided, we arrange a comparable alternative or refund the value of that component, as set out in section 12 of the Terms.
11.How refunds are paid
Refunds are made only to the original payment method used for the booking. If you paid by card, it goes back to that card; by net banking or UPI, to that account. We cannot send a refund to a different card, a different account, or a third party. This is a requirement of the payment networks and our authorized payment partners, and it is also what makes refund fraud difficult, so there is no exception to it.
If the original card has expired or been replaced, the refund is still sent to it; your bank routes it to the replacement account. If the account has been closed entirely, your bank will return the money to us and we will contact you to agree an alternative with proper verification.
Refunds are made in the currency of the original payment. Where a card was charged in a different currency, your bank's exchange rate on the refund date applies, and the amount credited may differ slightly from the amount debited. That difference is your bank's, not a deduction by us.
12.Refund timelines
A refund passes through three hands, and each takes its own time:
- The supplier releases the money. Hotel refunds on flexible rates are usually quick. Airline refunds are not, and can take several weeks; on some routes and fare types they take longer still. This stage is outside our control and is where nearly all of the waiting happens.
- We process it. Once the supplier has released the funds to us, we instruct the refund to your original payment method within 7 working days. Where no supplier release is needed — for example a full refund under section 10 for a booking we could not confirm — we instruct it within 7 working days of confirming the cancellation.
- Your bank credits it. Card issuers and banks typically post a refund within 5 to 10 working days of receiving it, and the credit may appear on your next statement rather than immediately.
Quote your booking reference and we will tell you which of the three stages your refund is at, and the reference under which it was instructed if it has left us.
13.Failed and duplicate payments
Where a payment fails but an amount is debited, it is almost always a temporary authorisation hold rather than a completed charge, and banks release those on their own, usually within 5 to 7 working days. No booking is created and no ticket is issued against a failed payment.
Where a genuine duplicate charge has been taken, tell us with the date, amount and last four digits of the card. We verify it with our payment partner and refund the duplicate in full, with no deduction, within 7 working days of confirming it.
14.Partial cancellations
You can cancel some travellers or some components and keep the rest, subject to the supplier's rules. Two consequences are worth knowing in advance: a per-person price built on shared occupancy changes when the number of people changes, so the travellers who remain may owe a supplement; and on a return ticket, cancelling one direction is governed by the fare rules and is not usually worth half the fare.
15.Disputes about a refund
If you disagree with a refund calculation, write to support@jackpotsworldtours.com with your booking reference and tell us which part you dispute. We will send you the supplier's own cancellation statement together with our workings, line by line, so you can see where each deduction came from.
Please come to us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback freezes the amount while the bank investigates, which usually delays the money reaching you rather than speeding it up, and it cannot recover a charge the airline or hotel was contractually entitled to make.
